SoundSpark Music

It's all about Great Music.™

On November 22, 2011, SOUND SPARK STUDIOS® was founded to be a new "record label" — founded on the love of the Great Music of the past.

Our era has millions of songs to choose from. Yet, there are still certain special songs or artists which especially fit a mood, a time and place, or for a zeitgeist for a whole generation. These are the ones we collected physically in vinyl records, and then cd's, and then digital playlists, and have been influenced by.

While Sound Spark Studios does not claim credit for the great music of the past, the SOUND SPARK™ brand is and will continue to be guided to advance its mission: to feed music's enduring soul, keeping Great Music of the past alive and known, and producing new music — to honor and continue humanity's greatest tradition....

Making Stars Brighter.™

Here are some thoughts about digital technology and music, namely: on "electronic music" and "autotune." Artificial music v. real Music.

Audio Technology is amazing. The world's diverse musical instruments are the product of millennia. Real-life sounds can be sampled by microphones and reproduced by speakers in exquisite detail. And computer-manipulation of sound can widely expand sonic possibilities, as surely as there are infinite possible combinations of 0's and 1's. There has been no better time than now for music.

This said, music is intended to inspire a human ear. And, a virtue of music is that it exhibits human excellence. Computer-aided perfect-intonation (autotune), perfect meter (flex-time), perfect loudness (compression) can make lifeless, artifical music. But, music should be of and about life.

Thus, Sound Spark Studios grows toward organic, not processed, sound and its symbiosis, not replacement, with technology. The SOUND SPARK™ music label welcomes collaboration with human talent who have put in the 10,000 hours to love/practice music in some way — for the listener to experience those few magical minutes.
